To get started with SpeedShare Pro, we recommend you open the Getting Started.html document with your favorite Web browser, such as Netscape Navigator, CyberDog, or Microsoft Internet Explorer. It's in the folder called SpeedShare User Guides.
System Requirements: System 7.1 or later, and Open Transport 1.1.1 or later.
For those intrepid souls who never, ever read documentation:
1) Put the SpeedShare Pro Folder on one Macintosh.
2) Make sure this Macintosh is connected to the Internet.
3) Open (double-click) SpeedShare Pro Server in the SpeedShare Pro Folder.
4) Follow the first-time setup instructions to set the server name, the owner name and the owner password. Start the server.
5) Put the SpeedShare Client Folder on another Macintosh*.
6) Make sure this Macintosh is connected to the Internet.
7) Open (double-click) SpeedShare Client in the SpeedShare Client Folder.
9) Use the File menu to choose New Connection, enter the Server Name, Owner Name, and Owner Password of the SpeedShare Server you just set up.
10) Click Connect. You should see a window which shows files from the server.
･ Remember to connect to the Internet before starting SpeedShare Server or opening a remote connection with SpeedShare Client.
* You can also run SpeedShare Pro Server and SpeedShare Client on the same computer, if you have enough memory. Connect as described above.
